Dr. Karen Copeland is a trailblazing visionary who found her true calling beyond the confines of the optometry world. With a degree from the renowned UC Berkeley School of Optometry in 1993, she embarked on a journey that would redefine her path and inspire countless lives.

Despite her early achievements in optometry, Dr. Copeland realized that her heart resonated elsewhere – in the realm of health and wellness. The passion ignited within her, and she swiftly shifted her focus to championing holistic well-being. Her determination to uncover the secrets of a vibrant life led her down an uncharted path.

In 2015, Dr. Copeland elevated her mission by becoming a certified health coach through the prestigious Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN). Armed with knowledge, compassion, and a deep-rooted desire to make a difference, she undertook the challenge of guiding women toward transformative healthy living. Her expertise became a beacon of hope, illuminating the path toward balanced nutrition, sustainable weight loss, and revitalized lifestyles.

But Dr. Copeland’s most formidable challenge was also her most inspiring triumph – herself. She confronted a lifetime of battling food addiction, weight fluctuations, and the torment of yo-yo dieting. The toll manifested as chronic ailments, including hypertension and depression. Refusing to be defeated, Dr. Copeland chose to be her first client, forging a path of resilience and self-discovery.

Through unwavering commitment and her profound understanding of holistic health, Dr. Copeland emerged victorious. She sculpted a life marked by healthier dietary choices and invigorating lifestyle changes, propelling her into her sixties with a vigor that defies age. Her transformation embodies the empowerment she imparts to her clients, proving that it’s never too late to rewrite one’s health narrative.

Dr. Karen Copeland’s legacy isn’t merely one of professional accolades – it’s a testament to the strength of the human spirit. Her story, a symphony of determination and self-care, resonates deeply with all who strive for lasting well-being. As an advocate, coach, and living embodiment of her teachings, she continues to illuminate the path to holistic health, proving that transformation is within reach for anyone willing to take that first step.

Are you having problems losing weight and keeping it off? Has your waist size expanded since the pandemic? What about your kids, have they gained weight? Studies continue to show that kids who exercise do better in school. It’s a fact that obesity rates along with Type 2 Diabetes, cancer, hypertension and other chronic diseases, have increased since the pandemic? Between inactivity and poor nutrition choices, we are fast becoming one nation overweight, and it is this weight gain that is contributing to the uptick in chronic disease.

Since 2010, Body Sculpt of New York has been conducting Six Weeks to Fitness programs that are designed to help you lose weight and inches, boost your energy level and build lean muscle, all within a six-week period. Since the pandemic, our programs have been hosted online in the comfort of your home. These programs have been highly effective and that is why I am announcing that on June 21st, we are hosting our next program called “Six Weeks to Family Fitness”. We want the entire family to exercise together, learn about healthy eating and live their best lives. Our bodies were meant to move but during the pandemic, we moved less and ate more; unfortunately, the foods we ate consisted of an abundance of sugar, fats and salt, in other words highly processed foods.

The pandemic also affected our mental health. When you’re told to stay at home, you receive less sunlight and what does the sunlight provide us with? Vitamin D, otherwise known as the sunshine vitamin; therefore, many of us were depressed and depression can bring about negative feelings and emotional eating, which can cause us to overeat. Vitamin D supplementation is important, and I speak about the importance of Vitamin D in our classes. When you combine Vitamin D with good nutrition and exercise, you boost your immunity level, lose weight and increase your positive outlook in life.

Our Six Weeks to Family Fitness program will make exercise fun for the entire family; some of the exercise classes include Zumba, Hip Hop, Yoga, Pilates, Dance & Sculpt and more. I think fitness should be fun, don’t you? If it’s not enjoyable, you won’t do it. We want you to have fun while burning calories and learning healthy cooking tips and much more. Motivation is also an important part of our program. Some of us lack the motivation to eat healthy and exercise and that is where my close to 30 years’ experience as a Wellness Coach and Trainer comes in. It is my job to motivate you to get off the couch and move your body. You have one body, if you take care of your body, your body will take care of you.

We are offering two exercise classes and one nutrition class per week along with accountability and motivation. The cost is only $10.00 per week per family for a total cost of $60.00 for the entire program and is tax-deductible. Be sure to claim your spot today. Once we meet our quota, we will close out the program, so if you are interested or know of any families who might be interested, please share this information with them as soon as possible. The spots are open on a first-come, first-served basis.

Healthy Cooking with Chef Isra Gordon (2).png

Cooking healthy is preparing real food in a way that promotes internal and external health. Cooking healthy doesn’t need to be difficult, complicated, time-consuming, or confusing. In fact, it never EVER should be. You have too much other stuff on your plate (no pun intended) to worry about. The what, how, and why of cooking doesn’t need to be one of them. Cooking healthy should be an enjoyable experience, not a stressful one.

Join us on Saturday, October 30th from 11 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. as we livestream on our Six Weeks to Fitness Youtube channel and on Zoom.  You will learn how simple and easy it is to cook healthy.

This is only the first of a series of healthy cooking classes Six Weeks to Fitness will bring to you.  We will also livestream exercise classes from training instructors all over the country, so don’t forget to subscribe to my Six Weeks to Fitness Youtube channel to stay up to date and be a part of a growing community of caring fitness professionals and nutritionists who want to help you to achieve your fitness goals at no cost to you. This event is also sponsored by Body Sculpt of New York, Inc., my nonprofit organization, whose mission is combat obesity by providing families with the tools to live a healthy lifestyle.
