Donna is in her fifties and still competing. She maintains her health and fitness schedule (weight training, tae kwon do, walking), and healthy eating.
Growing Up in Hollywood
Donna was born and raised in Hollywood. She credits her grandmother for teaching her how to cook healthy meals. Donna considered herself “odd” growing up. While going to public school, she remembers wearing her grandmother’s clothes.
Maintaining a Healthy Body
Donna believes that the worse thing you can do to your body is smoke. Smoking is bad for your skin and can cause lung cancer. Donna works out almost every day. She credits her healthy lifestyle as the reason why she has been so successful in Hollywood.
She advises women to eat healthily, do cardio exercises, and workout with weights. Donna went on to say that most women are afraid they will look masculine so they stay away from weight training. “The only way a woman can look masculine after training with weights is if they are using steroids. Weight training will keep the skin nice and firm.” Donna knows what she is talking about.
A Positive Mental Attitude and Meditation
Donna also believes that a positive mental attitude and meditation are very important to your health Meditation can alleviate the amount of stress in our lives.
