Lower Your Blood Pressure in 5 Minutes

Do you or anyone you know suffer from high blood pressure? Did you know that there is a proven safe and effective way to lower your blood pressure in 5 minutes or less at any time and anywhere?

What is blood pressure?

Blood pressure is the pressure of blood pushing against the walls of your arteries. Your arteries carry blood from your heart to other parts of your body. Blood pressure normally rises and falls throughout the day, but it can damage your heart and cause heart problems if it stays high for a long time. Hypertension, also called high blood pressure, is blood pressure that is higher than normal. Having hypertension puts you at risk for heart disease and stroke, which are the leading causes of death in the United States.

Risk factors for high blood pressure

  • Because your blood pressure tends to rise as you get older, your risk for high blood pressure increases with age. About 9 out of 10 Americans will develop high blood pressure during their lifetime.
  • Family history: High BP tends to run in families. Your risk is twice as high if one or more of your immediate family members (parents, siblings) has high BP before the age of 60.
  • Race: High BP tends to be more prevalent and severe in African-Americans than any other racial background. Why is that you ask? I believe it is because of the food that is consumed.
  • Sedentary lifestyle: People who are inactive tend to have higher heart rates. And the higher your heart rate, the harder it works.
  • Tobacco use: Smoking or chewing tobaccos temporarily raises your blood pressure for a short amount of time. However, the chemicals can damage the lining of your artery walls for the long-term.
  • Weight: The more you weigh, the more blood you need to supply oxygen and nutrients to your tissues. This puts an increased strain on your heart and circulatory system.
  • Diet: A diet too high in sodium and saturated fat and too low in potassium, magnesium, and fiber can increase your risk.

Most people think the only way to treat high blood pressure is to take prescription medications; while there are medications available to treat hypertension, there are other safer and natural ways to treat it, and it has a lot to do with your breathing.

Mental health professionals and yogis alike will recommend deep breathing because of all the amazing ways it can benefit your mental health, not just your respiratory system. Though it may feel unnatural to breathe deeply, the practice comes with various benefits. Deep breaths are more efficient: they allow your body to fully exchange incoming oxygen with outgoing carbon dioxide. They have also been shown to slow the heartbeat, lower or stabilize blood pressure and lower stress. You will be amazed at how relaxed you will feel after 5 minutes of deep breathing exercises.

The all-natural, pill-free technique to lower BP

I strongly suggest you take your blood pressure readings before trying this technique and immediately following.

  1. Begin by finding a quiet place where you can get comfortable. You may either sit or lie down.
  2. Take a deep breath inward for a count of five seconds.
  3. Then, slowly exhale for a count of five seconds
  4. Repeat this sequence for up to 5 minute

That’s it!

If the exercise feels too challenging, reduce your inhaling duration to four seconds and exhale for four. Or even inhaling for three seconds and exhaling for three. You can build up to 5 deep breaths over time. Always listen to your body and start out with whichever duration feels best. If you can’t do it for 5 minutes, then do it for 3 or 4. The main objective is to inhale and exhale as deep as you can, making sure your stomach expands on the inhalation and goes down on the exhalation.

I know this technique works because I do it each and every day, but don’t take my word on it. Listen to what Dr. Adam Story, has to say about it:

and
