Obesity is fast becoming our nation’s number one health concern and has been linked to many chronic illnesses, such as diabetes, hypertension, dementia, kidney disease and heart disease. In children, the effects are especially crippling, because of the impact it has on their emotional, social, and physical self-esteem.
As a speaker, I am called upon to speak on a variety of health, wellness, and fitness topics. Some of these topics include:
- How to Lose Weight in 6 Weeks or Less;
- How to Flatten the Stomach;
- New You Before the New Year;
- How to Take Control of Your Health at any Age;
- The Prevention of Chronic Disease through Nutrition and Exercise;
- The Power of Intermittent Fasting for Optimum Health;
My talks can be tailored to appeal to younger and older audiences. Some of my clients include:
- The United Federation of Teachers, New York, New York

Reggie Nance, Associate State Director for Multicultural Engagement for AARP interviewed me on his radio show to discuss the work my organization is doing in the community and to invite me to be a panelist at an event sponsored by AARP on “Disrupting Aging Through Sports” at Clyde Frazier’s Wine and Dine Restaurant in New York City. Also joining me as a panelist was former New York Yankee catcher turned sports announcer, John Flaherty, and former professional boxer, Gerry Cooney. The event was moderated by Ken Dashow, DJ from Q103.4.
For the past couple of years, NBC Universal has asked me to speak virtually at their events. The talk was called “A New You for the New Year.” Are you tired of making New Year’s resolutions and not keeping them? Did you know that less than 8% of Americans keep these promises and yet millions will continue making them? If you’re like most people, you probably gained weight during the pandemic and now with the holidays approaching, you don’t want to take those pandemic pounds and the holiday weight gain into the new year.
Are you looking for some safe and practical solutions that are safe and sustainable, then join Vincent Ferguson on Tuesday, December 7th for a conversation on how to smartly navigate the holidays and begin your fitness journey towards a new you before the New Year. This event is sponsored by the Black Employees Network (BEN) of NYC and Stamford, Conn., for NBC Universal.
