There is so much the human body can accomplish if you just believe in yourself and take action! I received a text late Saturday evening from a participant in my Six Weeks to Fitness program, she said, “I know it’s late on a Saturday night and I do apologize. However, I had to share this, I just got the nerves to get on the scale after avoiding it for weeks and I’m down 20 lbs. Wow, I was not expecting to see that much. I’m in shock. This is a first. Wow! Thank you so much for working with me and giving me the tools needed. Much appreciated. I will stay on the journey.”
This is not a strange or unusual occurrence, I am constantly hearing from those who took the time to invest in themselves, follow our exercise and nutrition advice and achieved some amazing results in only six weeks.
How many of us think just because we are currently overweight or unhealthy, that we are destined to stay that way? How many of us believe that because we are on high blood pressure medicine, diabetes medicine or other medications, that we must remain on these meds for the rest of our lives?
Have you ever heard this quote? It was written many years ago, so it has the masculine gender, but, if you are a woman, replace it with the female gender to get the full impact of its meaning:
“If you think you are beaten, you are
If you think you dare not, you don’t.
If you like to win, but think you can’t,
It’s already a cinch you won’t.
If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost
For out of the world we find
Success begins with a fellow’s will,
It’s all in a state of mind.
If you think you are outclassed, you are.
You’ve got to think high to rise.
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.
Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man.
But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.”
I remember first reading this quote over 20 years ago, and it still holds true today. How about you? Do you believe you can win this battle? Are you constantly doubting your ability to achieve your health and fitness goals? If you are, then you have already doomed yourself to failure. The people who get along in this life, are those who believe they can!
I believe in you, but the question is, do you believe in yourself? Our next Six Weeks to Fitness program will begin on September 20th, early registration has begun.
There is never any time like the present to go after your goals. Don’t think about yesterday’s failures, that is the past and as long as you dwell in the past, your present activities will be a failure. Let’s put all of our efforts into present day activities, if you want a healthier tomorrow.
