During the interview, Chris will discuss what it takes to make it as a professional football player in the CFL.  According to Chris, it has some similarities to the NFL.  Chris believes in striving for your dreams and not letting anyone tell you no.  Chris will also share his training routine during the offseason.  He believes that yoga and meditation play a major role in his life, and it helps prepare him for the game of football.

Chris Ackie, the Early Years

Growing up in Toronto and then moving to Cambridge, Chris participated in a variety of sports.  These sports included basketball, track & field, and rugby.  This was a very inspiring interview with a young man who, at the age of 13, was told by one of his coaches that he would never make it on a high school football team or college football team.  To hear his coach, whom he looked up to and respected say this, was disheartening to this young man.  Nonetheless,  Chris proved this coach wrong.  He not only made it on the collegiate level but all the way to the pros as well.  In the words of Chris, “keep striving for your dreams and let no one tell you that you can’t do it.”  Chris is doing it!

  1. What a great interview. It’s really great getting to hear more about professional athletes personal And professional journey. This was inspirational because so many of us get told by teachers or coaches what we won’t be able to achieve and to push past that is monumental! Inspirational!

    • I’m glad you enjoyed the interview with Chris Ackie. Sometimes you have to tune out those who don’t believe in you and press on towards your goals. Chris did it and I believe others can do it too.
